Cold Stress for All Industries Online  

Cold Stress Online Course Description: Cold Stress is an intermediate online safety course that focuses on anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazards associated with cold stress. Additionally, participants will learn the definition of cold stress and how to prevent injuries and illnesses on the job site. Anyone working in a cold environment may be at risk of cold stress.

Intended Audience: All individuals who may be required to work outdoors in cold environments for extended periods, for example, construction workers, utility workers, military personnel, snow cleanup crews, sanitation workers, police officers and emergency response and recovery personnel, like firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Cold stress can be encountered in these types of work environments. This online safety course is intended to be used across all industries such Construction and General Industry and for the following audiences:

  • Workers across all industries
  • Supervisors across all industries
  • Managers across all industries
  • Employers across all industries

Learning Objectives: Cold Stress course training is designed to offer participants a broad overview of cold stress awareness, symptoms, illnesses, preventative measures, and more. This course adheres to and provides an overview of OSHA’s safety regulations and guidelines to better prepare participants to recognize and prevent cold stress events.

Course Based On: This online safety course is based on the General Duty Clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (Section 5(a)(1) of OSH Act of 1970)

All course participants must complete the full course to receive 0.1 CEU credits. Participants must achieve a score of 80% at each knowledge checkpoint and fill out the course evaluation to receive his or her certificate of completion. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a course completion certificate showing the CEUs earned that may be printed at any time.
